We are a friendly club and welcome bowlers of all skills and abilities. We are fully equipped for bowling with an extensive range of equipment including two wheelchairs designed specifically for indoor and outdoor bowls, various Disability Bowls England approved equipment to help lift and launch woods, and a bespoke ramp for ease of access onto the green for summer bowlers. Our clubhouse is also fully accessible for wheelchair users.
Bowls is a sport that can assist in improving the health and wellbeing of disabled people of all ages. Playing bowls provides:
Low-impact, therapeutic exercise
Improves stamina and builds muscle strength
Improves fitness, co-ordination and confidence
Reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression, improves mood, and promotes well-being
Helps control joint swelling and pain associated with arthritis
Increase self-esteem, reduce the risks of depression, and improves sleep
Provides important social contact in a safe environment

Sets of bowls we can loan for up to a year to new members
One motorised Bowls Royce wheelchair
One manually operated wheelchair
Four bowling arms
Four bowls walking frames
Five Bowls Mates (walking stick and bowls lifter combined)
Our coaches are trained to Level 1, and all coaches and assistants are DBS vetted.
We welcome groups wishing to bowl together but can only accommodate up to two players in wheelchairs at any one time.

We can provide all the equipment you need to get you started – all you need is a pair of flat-soled shoes like trainers.
