Disability Bowls
We are a fully inclusive club and welcome bowlers of all skills and abilities. We are fully equipped for bowling with an extensive range of equipment including four wheelchairs designed specifically for indoor and outdoor bowls, various Disability Bowls England approved equipment to help lift and launch woods, and a bespoke ramp for ease of access onto the green for summer bowlers. Our clubhouse is also fully accessible for wheelchair users.
Bowls is a sport that can offer a considerable amount to assist in health and wellbeing of disabled people of all ages:
• Low-impact, therapeutic exercise
• Improves stamina and builds muscle strength
• Improves fitness, co-ordination and confidence
• Reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression, improves mood, and promotes general feelings of well-being
• Helps control joint swelling and pain associated with arthritis
• Increase self-esteem, reduce the risks of depression, and improves sleep
• Provides important social contact in a safe environment
To try out bowls at Charlbury simply use the 'contact us' section above. All interested in the sport have six free visits and membership fees are very low with no extra, hidden costs. We can provide all the equipment you need to get you started - you just need a pair of flat-soled shoes like trainers.
We are working towards the Bowls Disability Mark with the Bowls Development Alliance, and are affiliates of Disability Bowls England.

All our coaches are trained to Level 1, and all coaches and assistants are DBS vetted.
We also welcome groups wishing to bowl together but can only accommodate up to four players in wheelchairs at any one time due to the limit of our equipment stock.
